To Ramona, Pritham, and everyone in the family:Navajeevan was a true friend of so many of our classmates. He showed his friendship towards us in words and actions and as often as he could, and expressed his love and affection to all of us so openly. We were all very touched by his words several months ago describing his love for Ramona and how he was taking care of her during her difficult days. It was a true example of how we all should take care of our spouse when the need arises. I have never seen anyone going through so many suffering in life yet facing them with so much fortitude and grace. He was a role model for all of us about how to face adversity.
About ten years ago, my wife and I visited Navajeevan and Ramona at their house and spent a few hours with them when for the first time I learned about all that happened in his life. When we left, I had this unique feeling of meeting a great man from whom I could learn so much about life. We will miss him very much. May his soul rest in peace.

My heart felt condolences to Preetham and the rest of the family. Navajeevan, Ramona were my contemporaries during residency in Bronx.. Meenakshi and myself were good friends with them since those early days and we socialized often in the good old days. I admired Navajeevan’s intellect but more so his kindness and compassion. We usually have spirited discussions in the GI meetings whenever we met. When adversity struck in later years he was utmost dignified in facing the toughest challenges in life.. Since Meenakshi’s passing this year I am unable to come in person to express our sorrow during the services. May his soul rest in peace and his memories be a guiding light for the future!
